About
My work explores a universal desire to connect—our impulse to find meaning through images. I make art that invites viewers to notice how small shifts in perception can lead to changes within themselves and the world around them.
Using paint or dye, cloth or canvas, and often thread, I create layered surfaces and transitions that reveal subtle transformations over time. Occasionally, text is integrated with image, allowing language and visual form to emerge together and amplify one another’s meaning. My practice is an attempt to encourage slow looking, to open a space where quiet attention reveals the power of incremental change.
My life in art and art education spans decades and these dual paths continually inform one another. As a teacher, I have witnessed how meaningful art can be for people of all ages seeking to understand themselves and the world around them. As an artist, I remain open to these perspectives which deepen the exploration of my own interior landscapes.
I am a U.S.-based artist, currently living in Central Texas. Select commissions are accepted when time permits.
I am also delighted to work with individuals of all ages who would like to explore their own artistic terrain. For inquiries about art making or current available work, please visit the Contact page.
